Council Refuses to Respond: Calls Action Against Dog Fouling
Calls for Council to Take Action

There is calls for Derry Council to take action on pet owners who are letting their dogs foul in Derry City Centre streets. The Foyle News received a number of reports of dog fouling along the Quay. Peace Bridge. Craigavon Bridge and in and around the city centre and side streets.
Owners can face fines if council wardens catch owners not lifting dog waste but it seems no action is being taken to control this. The Foyle News has made contact with the local council to ask what action is being taken and to-date how many (if any) fines has been issued in the local area but they have since refused to respond to our requests for comments. We asked how many fines (if any) where issued in the local area and what action they intend to take towards offenders.
