They have been criticism for the Ambulance Service (NIAS) yesterday (21st April) after two ambulances was dispatched within 5 minutes to the scene of someone having entered the River Foyle. It follows that one person who was on the scene had to wait 45minutes to 1 hour for their mother who had a stroke just a few months ago and sadly passed away.

Police confirmed they arrived on scene in less than 1 minute, while the Fire service and NIAS having arrived in less than 5 minutes. Criticism is also been pointed to how long it took Foyle Search and Rescue to arrive on the scene in the water.

We've approached all agencies for comment.
