Man Hospitalised after tree fall

Police in Derry have confirmed a man was taken to hospital after falling from the Christmas tree in Waterloo Place. In a video that is circulated online a man is seen climbing to near the top of tree before falling.

Police received a report just after 4.45am on Saturday, January 5, that a man had climbed a Christmas tree in Waterloo Place in the city centre of Derry and had fallen Police said.

Both Police and Ambulance crews attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment which are not thought to be life-changing.
