PRIEST SUSPENDED FROM MINISTRY FOLLOWING ARREST

Father Edward Gallagher has been suspended from the ministry following being charged by police and appearing in court for attempted sexual communication with a child. It was confirmed after appearing in court on Saturday 19 April.
In a statement to The Foyle News, the Diocese of Derry said ''Following a video online and Father Edward Gallagher being charged with a sex offence he has been suspended from the ministry and we will conduct our own investigation into the matter''
Fr Gallagher was remanded into custody until May 1st.
During the video of alleged offences read out by ''Peado hunters'' Mr Gallagher tried to get away but was detained by two males from leaving the scene before Police arrived and made an arrest.
